African Mango Study 1

In a recent study by the Department of Food Science and Nutrition, University of Ngaoundere, BP, the effects of the African Mango seed in humans was analyzed. The experts were focused on how the seed helped individuals lose weight and the effects on the metabolism of the involved individuals.

The Study

102 individuals that were overweight and/or obese, but otherwise healthy, participated in the study. The individuals were split into two groups and one was given a placebo while the others were given 150mg of it’s seed before lunch and dinner. The individuals were evaluated and measured to monitor blood glucose and lipids as well as metabolic processes.

The Results

Significant differences were recorded between the two groups. Those taking the  fruit’s seed experienced greater body weight loss than those who were taking the placebo (95.7kg versus 85.1kg) as well as a greater waist circumference reduction (101.cm versus 88.1cm). Cholesterol levels were also found to be affected differently. The placebo group experienced a total cholesterol decrease of 1.9% while the  group that consumed the fruit’s seed experienced a 26.2% reduction.

Conclusion

The test shows that those who were given the fruit before meals experienced significantly more weight loss than those who took the placebo. They also experienced lower cholesterol levels at the end of the test than the placebo group. Overall, the results showed that African Mango is a huge boost for weight loss as well as lowering cholesterol levels in the body.
